I read another book.
It's by the authors of the "Nannie Diaries" (which I enjoyed) and it is all about balancing reality with idealism, but with a healthy dose of sarcasm at what feminism is degrading into. I appreciated Girl's starry eyed dreams about what could be, and completely understood the rough position of having to choose between ideals and unemployment. It also painted a very good picture of one who compromises and compromises until they don't hardly recognize what they're about anymore. This book was funny, insightful, scathing, true to life, stereotypical, and fantastical all in one book. Enjoying and thought provoking. Don't listen to it on CD as I did though, as the narrator often tried to sing (mistake) and do accents (Manchester is just not her thing).
hmmm…just may have to check it out.
Can't wait to read it!
I haven't read the Nanny Diaries. I only watched the movie which I hated. I really like chick lit though, so I just might have to pick this one up.
I completely disliked the movie, with the exception of Laura Linney. She is excellent in everything I've seen her in.
I started this book earlier this year but haven't been able to finish it. The reason I picked it up was because I read Dedication by these two as well. It, my friend, is a hilarious, super quick read. You should try it.
